I will never watch her concerts in full, but if there’s a bonus DVD out there full of sleazy dance sets untainted by shit ballads, I will buy the crap out of it.

“Poppin’love cocktail” sounds like a noisy mess, but I like the other three.

What the hell, Kuu? Why wasn’t this a single? This is 10000x better than both “Lollipop” and “POP DIVA.” Same goes for “Hey baby!” I really hope this album gets an international digital release. I don’t want to have to import the whole album for two songs.

ICONIQ’s debut album was available on US iTunes for, like, 5 minutes last weekend. I bought most of the tracks—I skipped the prologue/epilogue and second-hand-embarassment-inducing “Like a Virgin” cover—and I’ve been in love with this song all week.
ICONIQ as an artist doesn’t seem like anything special—she has a nice voice, but it’s the same nasally voice every Kpop singer has. I guess that’s what makes her a novelty in Japan. Fortunately, she has a great team backing her up. Many of the songs sound like they would have been right at home on Namie Amuro’s Past < Future or among the good tracks on Koda Kumi’s TRICK, so much so that I find myself wondering if some tracks were initially offered to Namie or Kuu.

Koda Kumi’s new “Collaboration Best” is looking good. It first surfaced for pre-order on HMV HK a year ago and was presumably scrapped after she felt the need to show the world her woeful lack of understanding of the female body and reproductive system. Now it’s back and scheduled for release next month.
