I missed this when it was first posted over a week ago (just saw it on
VERBAL’s blog). Blaise Plant is part of the J-pop group Monkey Majik. He lives in Sendai and has been staying in shelters, volunteering, and tweeting tirelessly (in English) since the first earthquake struck. His twitter account is really amazing. You should definitely follow him for more people-focused updates on relief efforts as well as volunteer opportunities if you’re in a place to help.
